East Peoria, Ill. - The Illinois Central College women's basketball team will be hosting their 12th annual Girls' Basketball Varsity Summer League at Ramsey Gym and the ICC CougarPlex on Wednesday nights in June. The league runs June 4, 11, 18, and 25 and features 20 local teams with games starting at 4:30 pm and concluding by 9:30 pm. The full schedule appears below.
"We're looking forward to hosting the league again this summer," women's basketball coach
Karrie Redeker said. "It's a great way for teams to start meshing together for the school year and see where they're at against local competition."
With all of the talented players and teams in the Peoria area, there should be lots of competitive match-ups as well as several rivalry games. Each night will consist of games being played in Ramsey Gym and in the three-court gym in the CougarPlex (both of which are air-conditioned), with a total of 78 games being played during the month.
"We're blessed to have one of the finest junior college facilities in the nation so it's great to be able to have local teams use it in this manner," Redeker said.
