Peoria, Ill. -  Meadow Terry's three-hit shutout led the #17 Illinois Central College softball team to a 6-0 win over Indian Hills on Friday at the Louisville Slugger Dome. The Cougars fell in the second game by a score of 14-8 as their record is now 4-2 overall.

GAME 1 RECAP
The Cougars put up two runs in each of the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings as they belted eight hits in the opener.

Laila Harris got things started with a lead-off walk, Kayleigh Harr doubled, and Samantha Verstraete had a sacrifice fly to score Harris. Terry then helped her own cause with a sacrifice bunt to score Harr for a 2-0 lead. In the fifth, Harris singled with two outs and scored on Harr's second double of the game. Verstraete got her second RBI of the game as she singled in Harr for a 4-0 advantage.

Bailey Herrick tagged a a 1-0 pitch over the left field fence for a solo homer to lead off the sixth. The Cougars added another run on two singles (Atkinson & Dani Neppl) and two walks for the final 6-0 margin.

Terry was brilliant on the mound with 15 strikeouts to get the win.

GAME 2 RECAP
Indian Hills took a 3-0 lead but in the bottom of the second the Cougars tied it thanks to a two-out walk by Abbie Lohman, singles by Atkinson and Harris and a two-RBI double by Harr.

IHCC scored two more in the top of the third, but ICC responded with three walks, singles by Atkinson, Harris, Harr, and Verstraete to put up a five-spot and take an 8-5 lead.

Unfortunately that was all the offense the Cougars could muster, while Indian Hills scored two in the fourth, three in the fifth, and four in the fourth to get the win.
