Addy Engel,
Maziah Shelton, and
Kam Heider were named to the All-Region 24 Team for their efforts this past season. Head coach
Karrie Redeker and staff were also recognized as Coach of the Year.
Lily Luczkowiak
Luczkowiak, a 5'10 sophomore forward, is a repeat All-Region 24 selection from a year ago. She leads the team in scoring at 16.0 ppg and in field goal percentage (58.4%) which ranks 9th in the NJCAA. She averages 5.5 rpg and 1.5 apg. Lily is a graduate of Illini Bluffs High School and is the daughter of Craig and Mandy Luczkowiak.
Addy Engel
Engel also made the All-Region team as a freshman and has been a consistent player for the Cougars. She is second on the team in scoring (13.0 ppg) and in field goal percentage (57.8%), which ranks 10th in the NJCAA. Engel pulls down 4.5 ppg while dishing out 2.9 apg. Addy is a Morton High School graduate and is the daughter of Chad and Christy Engel.
Maziah Shelton
Shelton, a transfer from North Central Michigan College, nearly averages a double-double at 10.4 ppg and 9.8 rpg for the Cougars. She has posted a total of 13 double-doubles and leads the team in rebounds at 325. She is the daughter of Maurice Shelton and graduated from Joliet West HS.
Kam Heider
Heider has started at the point guard position and averages 11.8 ppg and 3.7 apg. She is second on the team in three-pointers made (55) and leads the team in free throw percentage at 86.7%. Kam is a Richwoods HS grad and is the daughter of Jon and Marlie Heider.
Karrie Redeker
Redeker is in her 13th season as the head coach of the Cougars and is surrounded by a wealth of experience and energy. Assistant coaches are
Stan Prosser, Matt Long,
Tenley Dowell, and Dennie HIeronymus.
The Cougars are 30-3 overall this season and are awaiting the NJCAA Selection Show to determine who and when they will play in next week's DII National Tournament in Hickory, NC. The Selection Show is Tuesday at 4pm. CST.
