Danville, IL - The Illinois Central College baseball team split their Friday doubleheader against Danville Area Community College, losing the first game, 8-15, and winning the second, 9-7. The Cougars are now 17-27 overall, and 16-6 in conference play. 

Game one for ICC started off hot, scoring 3 runs in the top of the first inning. But then they allowed 5 unanswered runs through the first three innings from Danville Area, and wouldn't be able to complete the comeback, losing 8-15. Ashton Corley, Jordan Heider, and Ben Lapp each hit a double. Lapp and Charlie Graham drove in 2 RBIs apiece. 

The Cougars started down 0-2 in game two, but then scored 8 unanswered runs across the 3rd, 4th, and 5th innings. Danville Area tried to come back, scoring 4 runs in the bottom of the 7th, but it wasn't enough. ICC won game two, 9-7. Micah McCoy had a double and Ashton Corley drove in a home run, spurring the Cougars' offense in the high-scoring game. Wyatt Jaeck got the win, allowing 9 hits, 3 earned runs, 3 walks, and 6 strikeouts across 6 innings. 

ICC will play next at home against Danville Area on Sunday, April 19, at 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm.
