East Peoria, Ill. - The Illinois Central College women's basketball team will be hosting their 13th annual Girls' Basketball Varsity Summer League at Ramsey Gym and CougarPlex on Wednesday nights in June. The league runs June 3, 10, 17, and 24 and features 20 area teams with games starting at 4:30 pm and concluding by 9:30 pm.

"We're looking forward to hosting the league again this summer," women's basketball coach
Karrie Redeker said. "Two teams from last year's league won state championships this past March (Deer Creek-Mackinaw & Washington), so this is a good way for teams to build a foundation for the upcoming season."
Competing teams are Canton, Dee-Mack, Dunlap, East Peoria, Eureka, Illini Bluffs, Illinois Valley Central, Limestone, Manual, Metamora, Morton, Pekin, Peoria High (2 weeks only), Notre Dame, Princeville, Richwoods, Roanoake Benson (2 weeks only), Tremont, Washington 1 & 2.
With all the talented players and teams in the Peoria area, there should be lots of competitive match-ups as well as several rivalry games. A total of 72 games will be played during the month.
"We're blessed to have one of the finest junior college facilities in the nation so it's great to have local teams and potential recruits on our campus," Redeker said.
