East Peoria, IL - The Illinois Central College baseball team won their first game in the Region 24 Tournament on Friday against Lincoln Land Community College, 14-6, and lost their second game against John Wood Community College, 6-8. They advance to play John Wood on Saturday at 11:00 am. If ICC wins, they will play John Wood again in the championship game at 2:00 pm.

GAME 1 | LINCOLN LAND 6, ILLINOIS CENTRAL 14
Lincoln Land jumped out to an early lead in game one for the Cougars, 3-0 through the 1st inning. Then, a double from
Micah McCoy helped ICC tie the game at 3 by the bottom of the 2nd. A home run from
Aidan Fulton in the bottom of the 3rd gave the Cougars the lead, 6-3. ICC added to their lead in the bottom of the 4th, with a sacrifice fly from
Ben Lapp, an RBI from
Charlie Graham, and a solo home run from
Ashton Corley.
Ryan Brucker and
Jace Easley each recorded a double, and Easley had 3 RBI on the night, adding to ICC's lead.
Cam Clifton got the win on the mound, pitching all 7 innings, allowing 9 hits, 3 earned runs, and 9 strikeouts.

ICC scored one run in each of the first 3 innings, including a home run from
Micah McCoy in the 3rd, going up 3-0 on John Wood by the bottom of the 3rd. John Wood came back, scoring 5 runs in the top of the 4th, and ultimately holding ICC scoreless until the bottom of the 8th. John Wood added to their lead, scoring 2 in the top of the 6th. McCoy hit another home run in the bottom of the 8th, fueling a comeback from ICC, but it wasn't enough.
Wyatt Jaeck was ICC's starting pitcher, allowing 5 hits, 5 earned runs, 4 walks, and 2 strikeouts over 3.2 innings.
Cleveland Bizosky came in relief and pitched 5.1 innings, giving up 6 hits, 3 earned runs, 2 walks, and 3 strikeouts.
