The ICC women's soccer team will play Lewis and Clark on Sunday afternoon at 12 pm for a Region 24 Championship at CougarPlex Soccer Field. The teams split their two regular season contests, with LCCC winning 2-1 in Godfrey on September 28th and the Cougars getting revenge 2-0 four days later on October 2nd in East Peoria.
Lewis and Clark defeated Wabash Valley 4-0 on October 26th to advance to the Region Championship while the Cougars, who earned a first-round bye, have had a two-week break to get rested and healed up for the title game.
The Cougars have a bevy of weapons but have been led by their captain,
Amy Tipper, a sophomore center back from Etwall, England.
Alina Ochmann has anchored the defense at goalkeeper, while striker
Paula Gallardo Villanueva has led the attack.
Sunday's game will be available on the ICC Athletics YouTube (weather permitting).
