East Peoria, Ill. -
Paula Gallardo and the #16-ranked Illinois Central College women's soccer team picked up a big 2-0 win over (RV) Motlow State on a blustery Monday afternoon at CougarPlex Field. The Bucks (12-3) came into town on an 11-game win streak but the two first half goals by the Cougars allowed them to take control of the contest and get the hard-earned win.
"This was a top performance by the girls," ICC head coach
Javier Valle said. "We knew it wasn't going to be easy by any means as Motlow had won their previous eleven games and outscored their opponents 64-1, but the girls did a tremendous job of holding them to just two shots throughout the whole game."
"We're proud of the team and look forward to hosting Indian Hills on Wednesday in our last regular season game."
Lotte Adams and
Hanna Michel assisted on Gallardo's goals.
Next up: The Cougars, now 13-0, will host Indian Hills on Wednesday, October 19 in a 3pm contest at CougarPlex Field.
