Paula Gallardo's goal gave the #16 Illinois Central College women's soccer team a 1-0 victory in non-conference action on a chilly Saturday evening at CougarPlex Field.
Lotte Adams provided the assist for Gallardo's first half goal, which was her 13th on the season. The Cougars' record now stands at 12-0.
Next up: ICC has a week off from games and will resume play on Monday, October 17 hosting Motlow State at 2pm at CougarPlex Field.
This will be a great late-season test for the Cougars as the Bucks (from Tullahoma, TN) are 10-2 overall and receiving votes in the latest NJCAA DI poll. MSCC is on a nine-game win streak, having outscored their opponents 43-1 during the streak (which began September 5).
ICC, who is nationally ranked season for the first time in program history, will counter with defense as they have given up only five goals all season while scoring 36 total on the year.
Region 24 Tournament Information: ICC will be the #1 seed for the Region 24 tourney and will host Lewis & Clark in the semi-final on Tuesday, October 25
th at 4pm at CougarPlex Field. If the Cougars win, they will host the Region 24 Championship on Sunday, October 30
th at 12pm against the winner of Wabash Valley/Lincoln Trail.
