East Peoria, IL - Paula Gallardo's first half goal was all the ICC women's soccer team needed to earn a 1-0 win over #3 ranked (in Division II) Heartland on Tuesday evening at CougarPlex Soccer Field.  

"It was a hard-earned win by the girls," head coach Javier Valle said.  "It wasn't our best game overall but the early goal by Paula helped us manage the game better.  We still have to keep working and improving.  Tonight was a good, deserving win but now we look to St. Ambrose for the weekend."

Lotte Adams provided the assist to Gallardo to help the ladies move to 3-0.

Next up:  ICC will play St. Ambrose on Monday, September 5 at 6pm at ICC CougarPlex Field.
