East Peoria, IL - Paula Gallardo's penalty kick in the 70th minute broke a scoreless tie to lead the #18 Illinois Central College women's soccer team to a 1-0 win over Lewis & Clark on Saturday afternoon at CougarPlex Field in Region 24 action.  The Cougars' win streak is now at seven, moving their record to 7-0 overall, 3-0 in Region 24 while LCCC drops to 1-3 overall.

"This wasn't our best performance overall, especially in the first half, but we're proud of the girls for being able to overcome that and still come out with an important region win," head coach Javier Valle said.  "We need to turn the page quickly as we travel back to play them Wednesday."

Next up:  ICC will face off against Lewis & Clark on Wednesday, September 21 at 4pm in Godfrey.
