Godfrey, Ill. - Illinois Central College women's soccer coach
Javier Valle was interested to see how his team would respond after defeating rival Lewis & Clark in a nail-biter on Saturday. It's safe to say he was all smiles as his Cougars answered the call with a 5-1 win over the Trailblazers in Region 24 action, their second win over LCCC in five days.
"This was one of our most dominant performances all year," Valle said. "We could've been better at finishing our chances as we could have doubled the score but regardless of that we are proud of the performance from the girls. We look to continue our strong play on Saturday at Lincoln Trail."
ICC, ranked #18 in this week's NJCAA DI poll, tallied their most goals of the season to stay undefeated and move their record to 8-0 overall.
Goals were scored by Meritxell Borrull (2),
Valeria Duque,
Carolina Schultz, and
Paula Gallardo.
Next up: ICC will travel to Robinson on Saturday to take on Lincoln Trail in a 3pm contest.
