Robinson, Ill -
Valeria Duque and
Paula Gallardo both scored two goals for the #18 Illinois Central College women's soccer team in a 4-0 victory over Lincoln Trail in Region 24 action on Saturday.
Gallardo, a returning 2nd team All-American and reigning Region 24 Player of the Year from Barcelona, Spain has a team-leading nine goals in as many games on the season. Duque, a freshman from Cali, Colombia scored multiple goals in a contest for the first time in her college career.
"Our team had another complete performance today," third year head coach
Javier Valle said. "We're so proud of them as they did everything we asked in holding Lincoln Trail to no shots throughout the game and put away three early goals that let us manage the rest of the match. We're playing our best soccer right now so we hope to continue that through the rest of the season."
The Cougars own a nine-game win streak, which is the longest in school history as their record stands at 9-0. The women continue to make history as they are in the NJCAA DI poll for the first time ever.
Next up: ICC are back in action on Tuesday, September 27 against #12 (in Division II) Parkland at 4pm at the PC Soccer Field in Champaign.
