East Peoria, Ill. - Fans donning both blue and red made their way to Thome Field on Sunday morning. A cloudless sky in East Peoria, combined with a battle between coach
Brett Kelley's ICC baseball team and their cross-river neighbors from Bradley, led to a quality crowd up and down foul lines. The Cougars and Braves would play a singular 12-inning game. Per NJCAA rules, the final score may not be reported, but individual stats can be. Those are included below.
ICC NOTABLE MOMENTS VS. BRADLEY
1st Inning | Kyle Mack and
Tyler Hansen had consecutive line drive singles to right field and left field, respectively.
4th Inning | Broker Bailey struck out two Bradley batters in the inning.
7th Inning | Keegan Isbell completed one of his two caught stealing plays from behind the plate.
Kyle Miller tossed a 1-2-3 inning, with the other two outs coming via the strikeout.
8th Inning | Kaiden Lucero got the Cougars' third hit of the game with a hard line drive double down the left field line on the first pitch of his at bat.
9th Inning | Billy Mini tossed a two-strikeout inning, and Isbell caught the aforementioned second Brave stealing.
10th Inning | Hunter Thornton struck out two Bradley players.
