Bourbonnais, Ill. - Melia La's header on a corner kick gave the Illinois Central College women's soccer team a 1-0 win over Olivet Nazarene JV on Saturday afternoon. 

La's score came in the first half and was her fifth score of the season.  With the win, the Cougars moved their record to 10-4-2 overall.

"We dominated the game and had plenty of chances but couldn't put them away," coach Javi Valle said. "But we're happy to get the win."

The Cougars now have one regular season game remaining as they will host Indian Hills on Wednesday on Sophomore Day.  Alba Lopez, Alba Vigo, Hanna Michel, Sophia Gonzalez, Jenna Kinney, Carolina Schultz, Luiza Junior Dos Santos, Valeria Duque, Peyton Summers-Ponce, and Melia La will all be playing in their final game at CougarPlex Field.  

"We'll look to close the regular season strong on Wednesday night and then get ready for Districts on Friday," Valle concluded.  

ICC will begin post-season play on Friday, October 20 at 12pm vs. Lincoln Trail in the Central District Tournament in Godfrey.
