Normal, Ill. - Four people associated with the Illinois Central College Athletic Department---Margaret Kizer, Donna Thomas,
Greg Martin, and Kevin Metzger---were officially inducted into the Illinois Basketball Coaches' Association Hall of Fame at the annual banquet at CEFCU Arena on Saturday night. - Margaret Kizer: Margaret was a stat keeper for both the Illinois Central College men's and women's basketball teams from 1985-2020. It's estimated she and Donna sat courtside and "statted" over 2,000 games with Kizer serving as the "spotter"--- telling Thomas who made the basket or got the steal. The duo kept stats at home and away games for both programs and worked eight NJCAA Women's National Tournaments, including all six of the National Championships won by the ICC women's basketball team. Margaret is an ICC alum and a graduate of the California School of Dental Technology. She is a worked as a dental lab technician for 38 years and is now retired.

His career began in 1969 as the junior high boys' coach at St. Patrick's Grade School in Washington and he went on to be the JV and varsity girls' basketball coach (for 13 years) at Washington High School. In 1999 he joined the ICC women's basketball staff, helping them win the National Championship in 2003 and 2006. He recently completed his 24th season as an assistant for the Cougars.
- Kevin Metzger: Kevin just finished his 39th year in coaching and has served as a boys' & girls' varsity head coach, boys and girls' assistant coach, and now college women's assistant. He began his coaching career in 1982 as a boys' assistant coach at Peoria Woodruff and then served in the same capacity for East Peoria in 1989. He was the varsity boys' coach for EP for 13 years where his teams won six conference and three regional championships and then was the girls' varsity coach at Limestone from 2007-17. He then became an assistant coach for the Richwoods girls' team, helping them to the 2018 Class 3A State Championship. Kevin recently joined the women's staff at Illinois Central College. His career head coaching record is 380-237.
- Donna Thomas: Donna was well-known for her dedication and attention to detail during the estimated 2,000 games she and Kizer statted for the ICC basketball programs. Donna first kept stats by hand and eventually ran the mouse on the computer when ICC implemented the Cybersports Digital Stats Program. She also shared her knowledge with several other college programs, in addition to working eight NJCAA Women's National Tournaments. An ICC graduate, Donna is a member of Phi Theta Kappa and a member of the USA Today Academic All-American Second Team for Community Colleges.
