Decatur, Ill. - Savannah Orgeron's 19 points (13th 10+ point game of the season) led the ICC women's basketball team (10-6) to a 67-48 win over Millikin JV on Wednesday night at the Griswold Center to finish up the non-conference portion of the schedule.
Miya Webb added 14 points and
Elena Redgate had 10 points.
ICC darted out to an 11-4 lead behind five first quarter points from Orgeron but then the Big Blue settled in to go on a 10-0 run to take a 14-11 lead after one quarter.
Webb scored on a drive to the hoop and Orgeron nailed a three-pointer fromt he top of the key to get the lead back midway through the quarter. A
Cora DeSutter score and free throws along with another Webb basket gave ICC a 29-24 advantage at the half.
The Cougars took control of the game in the third quarter as the defense tightened up and ICC exploded for 26 points in the quarter, with Redgate cashing in eight points and Webb and
Paris Wilson each scoring four.
Imari McDuffy,
Naomi Elliott, and Webb all had several nice passes to open teammates as eight players scored in the quarter.
Orgeron tallied six more points in the fourth quarter to help ICC get the win.
