Godfrey, Ill. - The Illinois Central College women's soccer team battled to a 1-1 tie with Lewis and Clark on Saturday in Region 24 action.
After the teams played to a scoreless first half, Lewis and Clark struck first on a goal early in the second. The Cougars drew even with about ten minutes left to play on a score by Noela Zaengerle to tie things at 1-all. ICC had a chance for the win in the final minute on a header but unfortunately the ball hit the post.
ICC's record is now 5-4-1 while the Trailblazers are 6-3-3.
The Cougars will play their final regular season game on Wednesday, October 16 at Southwestern Illinois in Belleville at 1pm. The Blue Storm won the first meeting 1-0 on September 25; if the Cougars can win on Wednesday they would earn the #2 seed in the upcoming Region 24 Tourney.
