Cottleville, MO - The Illinois Central College baseball team (19-27) continued their road trip on Thursday afternoon, going southwest this time, and taking on the St. Charles Cougars in another non-conference tilt. ICC started out well, taking a lead after three innings, but all of St. Charles' runs were in the unanswered variety, as they would pull away for a 7-3 victory over ICC.

ICC would draw first blood in the top of the second inning. Kannon Kleine hit a first-pitch single into left fielder. Jacob Castleman sacrificed him over, and after taking just one pitch, Nick Piazza launched a two run home run over the left field fence for a 2-0 lead. 

St. Charles got a leadoff single in their half of the second, but Bryce Bishop and Kyle Mack would team up for a flyout double play (9-3). That would keep the shutout in tact. 

ICC would add on in the third. Bryce Bishop got it going with a leadoff single. Soon after, Mack would get a first-pitch RBI groundout for a 3-0 lead after two and a half innings. 

From there, however, St. Charles would score seven unanswered runs. In that same span of time, ICC had four base runners reach: a Castleman single, a Griffin Roesch single, a Bryce Bishop single, and a Tyler Hansen walk.
