Ottumwa, IA - The Illinois Central College women's soccer team lost 5-0 to #1 Iowa Western at the Indian Hills Classic at the IHCC Soccer Complex on Sunday. The Reivers, the two-time defending National Champions, took an early lead and controlled the game from there to get the win.
"Iowa Western is a quality team and we didn't have any answers for them," coach Javi Valle said.
IWCC (1-0-1) scored in the 13th minute to take a 1-0 lead. The Cougar defense then tightened, but the Reivers eventually scored three more goals before the half for a 4-0 lead.
Goalkeeper Gabriela Acevedo had four saves on the afternoon for ICC, who fell to 0-2.
