East Peoria, Ill. - The Illinois Central College women's soccer team battled toe-to-toe with Southwestern Illinois on Tuesday afternoon, but came up just short as they lost 2-1 at CougarPlex Soccer Field in Region 24 action.

Vivienne Hardiman scored the lone goal for ICC, who is now 2-8-1. SWIC improved to 10-4-2.

The Cougars will play their last regular season game this Saturday as they host Lincoln Trail. Teams will then will be seeded for post-season play, which begins on Friday, October 24.
