Godfrey, Ill. - The Illinois Central College women's soccer team took #10 Indian Hills to overtime but fell 1-0 in the first round of the District Tournament on Friday.
"We're super proud of the girls," coach Javi Valle said. "As I've said before, with everything that's happened throughout the season the girls stuck together, fought through adversity, and went into this game knowing that despite our record, we were a team that could compete with anyone. We showed that today by going head-to-head with one of the best teams in the country. Therefore, I'm just so proud of this group."
The Warriors' winning goal came in the 91st minute off of a rebound and ended the Cougars' season at 3-9-1. Indian Hills moved to 13-3 and advanced to play Lewis and Clark on Sunday.
