Council Bluffs, IA - The Illinois Central College women's soccer team started their 2026 season in the Hawkeye state against two Top 20 teams, falling to #11 Indian Hills 4-1 on Saturday and to #5 Iowa Western 7-0 on Thursday.

Thursday result: #5 Iowa Western 7, Illinois Central 0
The Cougars battled for a half before Iowa Western pulled away after halftime. The Reivers held just a 2-0 lead in the opening half, scoring at the 26th and 34th minute before taking over in the second half where they scored five goals. 

Goalkeepers Gracie Vanquakebake (6) and Isabella Correa (3) combined for 9 saves for the Cougars, now 0-2.
