The weather may have been cooler, but the ICC women's soccer team's offense stayed hot as they collected a 3-0 win over Wabash Valley College in Region 24 action at CougarPlex Soccer Field on Tuesday afternoon. The women opened the game strong, taking a 2-0 first half lead and then added another goal after halftime to pad their lead and get the win. Goals were scored by Teresa Aviño (assist Paula Gallardo), Meritxell Mena (unassisted), &
Mirsa Boyer (assist Clementine Dufaure de Lajarte).
"We had a a good overall performance from the team today, " head coach
Javier Valle said. "We knew that Wabash was going to come & sit back making it difficult for us to score, but we were able to finish a few chances that we had in order to dictate the pace of the game. We have a tough week ahead of us with four games in a week so getting a key region win today was important."
Next up: The Cougars, now 5-1 will play Thursday, September 23 at St. Ambrose JV in Davenport, IA at 7:00 pm.
