Sugar Grove, Ill. - Four Illinois Central College women's soccer players scored the first collegiate goals of their young careers as ICC won big over Waubonsee on Wednesday night by a score of 5-0.
Alexandra Husson,
Alexa Brown,
Nele Flerlage, and
Isabella Guerra all hit the back of the net for scores in the win. They were joined in the scoring column by fellow freshman,
Vivienne Hardiman, to gain their second consecutive win.
"Tonight was a good overall performance from the team," coach Javi Valle said. "The girls did well at executing what we had worked on throughout the week. I still think we can be better at finishing our chances, but that will come."
The Cougars (2-4) will now prepare for a big Region 24 match-up on Saturday against Wabash Valley at ICC CougarPlex Field at 3pm. The Cougars and Warriors met a week ago on September 21, with the Cougars prevailing 3-1 in Mt. Carmel.
ICC can get back in the Region hunt with a win over WVC as Southwestern Illinois (SWIC) beat Lewis and Clark today.
