Hardiman, WSOC take down Wabash Valley

Freshman scores twice, Cougars have won three straight

East Peoria, IL - The Illinois Central College Women's Soccer team has been making the most of a majority-home schedule this fall, and took on the Wabash Valley Warriors in a home match at the CougarPlex on Saturday afternoon. It would be a big day for freshman Vivienne Hardiman, who would score twice and be just part of a goal-scoring barrage against the Warriors, ending as a 7-0 victory for the Cougars.

ICC was already ahead at the half by a 3-0 score on the aforementioned Hardiman goals, plus a score from freshman Emiliana Aimar to give the Cougars their lead after the first 45.

In the second half, goals from Isabella Guerra, Alexa Brown, Nele Flerlage, and Noelia Zaengerle all allowed ICC to put the match in cruise control in its waning minutes.

After starting (0-4), the Cougars have been playing quality soccer of late, having now won three consecutive matches to move to (3-4).

Coach Javier Valle cited the teams improved performance from the 3-1 result against these same Warriors just one week prior, saying that "it just shows how well the girls have been working", adding that "having Noelia (Zaengerle) get back on the field" allows his team to only get better.
